If you’re thinking of becoming a member of The Alliance, the first thing you should do is attend one of our rehearsals. Take the time to decide if this organization is right for you. You might also review our Member Expectations on the right.
In general, there are five steps to becoming a member:
- First Visit – Guest Orientation
- Second Visit – Vocal and Visual Assessment
- Third Visit – Receive Audition Packet (sheet music and learning CD)
- Audition – I’ve Been Workin’ On The Railroad sung from memory in a quartet
- Membership Application
Members are expected to:
- Be an active participant in the chorus
- Attend rehearsals and public performances regularly
- Discipline on the risers (i.e. no talking)
- Use a personal recorder (mini-disc or cassette) and lapel mic to record rehearsals
- Listen to rehearsal recording between rehearsals Rehearse music on your own between rehearsals Assist chorus financially by helping to sell show tickets, CDs, etc.
