Encore quartet has been giving musical pleasure to audiences in southwestern Ohio since 2009. Our name signifies our goal of entertaining to the level of being asked back. We love up-tunes and ballads alike and have performed songs from the late 1800’s up thru recent show tunes. The quartet has competed and has entertained a broad range of local audiences on barbershop shows and for numerous retirement communities, groups and festivals. Our lead, Doug Colyer has a great lyrical voice and cantors and directs a church choir in Northern Kentucky. Our tenor, Noel Dickson, from Fairfield OH also writes and sings music with a Cincinnati area guitar band “Creeky Knees” and at Temple. Dave Short, from Centerville OH, is an avid barbershopper and, as our baritone, provides the interlocking sound of the quartet. Doug, Noel and David are all members of the Southern Gateway Chorus in Cincinnati. Doug Lazar, our bass from Loveland OH adds warmth to our sound and sings in both Gateway and the Alliance chorus and is also a member of Indiana Harmony Brigade.
